Vimeiro Thermal Centre is located in the northern municipality of Torres Vedras, in the town of Maceira, along the river Alcabrichel, an area heavily dominated by interesting geological features.

The history of this Thermal Centre dates back to the nineteenth century. In 1845, gave some descriptions note of the existence of two baths, in the River bank. The first official review was dated in 1867, first made by Agostinho Vicente Lourenço and then by Charles Lepierre.

The legal operation dates from 1896, a concession made to José Pedro Cardoso. It is in 1920 that the heirs of the first dealership asked for a license on behalf of the Empresa das Águas do Vimeiro, Lda. In January 1921, a charter is published ranking the waters as chlorinated with sodium.
